Harold Skoldal

August 22, 1948 - March 6, 2026

Harold “Harry” Skoldal III, 77, of Lynchburg, passed away March 6, 2026, with his beloved daughter at his side.

Born August 22, 1948, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Harold Skoldal, Jr. and Theresa Eckert Skoldal. Harry was a retired carpenter and a notably intelligent man. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved and fiercely protected without fail. A hero and savior to his daughter and a best friend to his grandson, his legacy will never be forgotten, but leaves a void that will never be filled.

Harry was a gifted man in many areas. Carpentry was not only his profession, but his passion. He loved what he did and took great pride in his work. Anything crafted by him was sure to be as close to perfect as humanly possible. Harry was also an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity and thirst for knowledge, an avid fisherman, and a great friend.

Known for his quick wit, dry humor, honesty, and strong moral compass, Harry lived with integrity and expected the same of those around him. He valued solitude and chose friends carefully; those he called friends were like family. Harry will be deeply missed by all that were privileged to know him.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis and Judith Skoldal. Harry is survived by his daughter, Jessica Skoldal; grandson, Liam Skoldal Phillips; as well as extended family Sonny Jordan, Karen Jordan, Jim Jordan, and Loyd Woodford.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Whitten-Timberlake Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitten-Timberlake Chapel with Celebrant Polly Starnes officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
