Hazel "Louise" La Prad
Louise La Prad, 86 of Clearwater, Fla., and originally of Salem, Va., peacefully passed away listening to her favorite Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Louise was born on September 29,1938, in Roanoke County, Va., daughter of the late Linwood and Ethel Kidd Gross. She was a real estate agent and a social worker in Housing and Urban Development. During, and before her retirement, she was known for her creative pencil drawings and watercolor art. A kid at heart, enjoying numerous visits to Walt Disney World and cruising their Ships, she is better known as a “Disney Adult.”. A devout animal lover, she was certainly fond of her four-legged children. To those who knew her best and enjoyed her cooking, her Mac and Cheese dish was better than any on the face of the earth. Above all, her children will remember her most as the loving mother she was.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Randolf La Prad, and her son, Joel La Prad.
Family remaining to cherish her memory include Jon and Barney La Prad and Jeff La Prad, all of Florida.
Graveside services honoring Louise’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, 3300 Melrose Ave NW, Roanoke, Va.
