Helen Joyce Flora Saul, 95, of Boones Mill, VA, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family Sunday, October 2, 2022. She was born March 15, 1927, in Franklin County, VA the daughter of Charlie Ben and Hannah Mae Plunkett Flora.
Helen married Posy Francis Saul on January 12, 1950, was a life-long member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren and retired from Virginia Apparel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, A.D, Richard and David; and her sisters, Rachel and Jean.
She is survived by her children, Mike and Terry Saul of Moneta, Barbara and Ron Wiseley of Roanoke, Louie and Judy Saul of Boones Mill, Ruth and Lex Gibson of Buchanan, and Beth and Ray Perkins of Boones Mill; 13 grandchildren and their families including 13 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Christine Saul of Boones Mill.
Helen graduated from Boones Mill High School, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed sewing, crafting, and making personalized greeting cards. She loved the outdoors, nature, and her pets.
Services will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren in Rocky Mount, VA. Visitation at 1:00 PM, the service at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception at 3:00 PM led by Pastor Greg Broyles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, with a notation in memory of Helen Saul.
Helen was the beloved matriarch of the family and will be truly missed. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
