Helen Marlene Moore
Helen Marlene Dalton Moore, 86, went to be with her Lord and savior on December 30, 2025, at her residence in Sutherlin, VA. Mrs. Moore was born on December 26, 1939, in Danville, VA to the late John Kirby Dalton and the late Mary Lucille Jennings Dalton, Mrs. Moore lived most of her life in Sutherlin. She worked for Dan River Mills as a weaver for 45 years before her retirement. She was married to the late Bobby Vinton Moore and was a member of Rocksprings United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her special dog, Teddy and her son-in-law, Dale Snow.
Mrs. Moore loved to work in her yard and garden, cook, bake, sew, and take care of her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family very much.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Francis and Melinda Snow, a son, Bobby Moore Junior (Stephanie), grandchildren, Cristy Hawks (Evan), Neal Francis, Brian Lee Francis (Kirsti) and Kathryn Moore (Ryan), as well as four great-grandchildren, Christen Gail, Grayson, Kinsleigh, River Lee.
The family would like to offer a special word of thanks to her caregiver, Angie Meadows, as well as, the staff of Medi Home Hospice, including Ayme Currin, Candice Neighbors Tiffany James, Jean Noble, Kim Tate, and Nathan Snider.
A visitation of friends will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m., also at Norris West End Chapel, officiated by Pastor Teresa Hawker. Interment will follow the funeral service at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA.
