Henry "Jeff" Jefferson Beck

Henry “Jeff” Jefferson Beck, 86, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.  Jeff was born in Raleigh County, WV on January 19, 1939 to the late Edna Ward Beck and the late Robert James Beck. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Barbara Coghill Beck.

Jeff was of the Christian Faith. He taught for many years as a Professor at Danville Community College previous to his retirement. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army. He also worked with and studied genealogy over the years, and was a master gardener, which he took pride in.

In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by two brothers; Harvey Beck and Donald Beck; three sisters; Dorothy Kidd, Carol McDowell, and Emily Hill; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was predeceased by a brother; Robert “Bobby Gene” Beck and two sisters; Ida Mae Finney and Frances Yeatts.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 7:00pm at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Darren Keithley and Mr. James Finney officiating. A visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service from 6-7:00pm, also at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA.
