Henry Leroy Allison

November 18, 1933 - December 17, 2025

Henry Leroy Allison, known as “Roy” to all who knew him, of Lynchburg, ran into Jesus arms on December 17, 2025, having been made whole, because of God’s forgiveness and Roy’s acceptance of the gift of His son, Jesus Christ, on November 17, 1969.

Born on November 18th, 1933, in Delaplane, VA, he was the son of the late William Frank and Elizabeth Corder Allison. Roy was the 5th of 10 children, preceded in death by Nola, George, Frankie, Carl, Charles, and Shirley.

He is survived by three sisters, Geneva Allison, Barbara Allison, and Linda Sue Allison, and multiple nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Lynchburg family, Kevin & Susan Barringer and grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Harris, Jessica (Barrett) Moorman, and Jason (Tiffany) Barringer and 5 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mady, Gage, Huntley and Oakley, whom he adored.

Roy retired from Thomas Road Baptist Church, as Superintendent of Elim Home for Alcoholics in 2014 after more than 40 years of service. He had a deep love for his faith and family and shared Christ with everyone. He found joy in hard work, particularly in the garden, by providing an example and motivation to his “boys” at Elim, whom he loved dearly.

A service celebrating Roy’s life and faith will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Thomas Road Baptist Church – Pate Chapel, with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Tree of Life Cemetery in Altavista.

The service will also be available via live stream at the following URL: https://watch.trbc.org/media/t/1_dxumd6zi.

Memorial gifts may be made to Thomas Road Baptist Church – Eagle’s Nest (formerly Elim Home).

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides and staff at Liberty Ridge Health and Rehab, Heartland Hospice and Sharon and Tommy Baldwin.
