Herman "Pawpaw" Larry Garman

Herman Larry “PawPaw” Garman of Roanoke County passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2025 surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman G. Garman; mother, Ruby M. Garman; brothers, Robert Garman and Curtis Garman; and sister, Barbara Thompson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Garman; sons, Glen T. Garman and wife Carla and Keith Garman; granddaughter, Kristin Garman; grandson, Dylan Garman; sister, Alene Mills and husband Glenn; brother, Jerry Garman; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was a well-known Artisan in the valley. He worked for Clifton Floor and Tile for over 30 years and owned his business, G & W Floor and Tile. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time you could find him calling a turkey, bagging a deer, or reeling a striped bass.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Geiser officiating.

He had the gift of making everyone feel like a friend and he never met a stranger.
