Hersey Diggs

Hersey Leon Diggs departed his life on April 22, 2025 at Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA.

He was born to Mr. Sam Hersey Diggs and Mrs. Dorothy McCoy of Amherst, VA on October 19, 1967.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Hersey Diggs, Dorothy McCoy, his brother Garland McCoy, Jr., and nephew Terkais McCoy.

Hersey leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Simone Watson, step-father Garland McCoy, Sr., (Susan) Concord, VA, step-children Tiffany, Caleb, Rick, Kandida and Sasha; his siblings Sam Diggs of Amherst, VA, Walter Higginbotham of Madison Heights, VA, Hershel Diggs (Mary), Amherst, VA, Deborah Goins (Daniel), Amherst, VA, Malaya McCoy, Madison Heights, VA, Betty Rose (Charlie), Amherst, VA, Lois Thompson, Amherst, VA, his loving companion Kim Ferguson, Concord, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, 12 noon at Bruce and Stiff Funeral Home.  Public viewing will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, 1-5 PM at Bruce and Stiff.
