Hubert "Andy" Andrew Slaughter

HUBERT ANDREW (“ANDY”) SLAUGHTER, 59, of Bland, VA, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2024. Born on March 18, 1965, in Bluefield, Virginia, Andy was known for his hardworking nature and his diverse skills.

He was self-employed in various trades, including logging, carpentry, and farming, and was recognized as a jack of all trades.

Andy's hobbies included traveling, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with horses and mules, activities that reflected his love for adventure and the outdoors. 

He leaves behind Rachel Havens, his cherished companion. His Australian Shepherd, Winston and his family, including two sons, three grandchildren, his father, three brothers and their spouses, two sisters, one half-brother, and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. 

Andy also leaves behind many dear friends who were more like family to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 23,2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Morning Star Cemetery, Bland, VA, with Donnie Fink and JB Baldridge officiating.

Andy's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
