Ila Chris Rye

Ila Chris Rye, age 68, of Blacksburg died, Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on September 9, 1957, to the late Maynard and Jonelle Johnston DeHart. Ila was a real estate agent in the New River Valley for many years. She was a longtime member of Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Randy Whitaker; nephews, Brent (Monica) Whitaker and their daughter, Skyanna; Reagan (Ally) Whitaker; and several aunts and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Beane officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 -11:00 am prior to the service on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at McCoy Funeral Home.
