Ilene Pack Hamm

Mrs. Ilene Pack Hamm, age 94 of Claudville, VA, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 3, 2024, at Waddell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galax, VA. She was born September 21, 1929, in Patrick County to the late Zacharia “Zack” and Emily Pack. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Granny was a member Primitive Baptist Faith. Left to cherish her memory are a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Gilda (Jill) Hamm; grandchildren, Robby (Lee Ann) Hamm, Steven (Ginger) Hamm, and Christopher (Beth) Hamm; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter; sister, Sally Mae Wilson; and several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hamm; a son, Buford “Bush” Hamm; sisters, Ida Smith and Lucilla Collins; and brothers, Sherwood “Pete” Pack and Arthur Pack. Funeral services will be held on Monday January 8, 2024, at 2:00pm with the Rev. Rickey Martin and Brother Steven Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Pack Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00pm. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Waddell Nursing and Rehab and Hospice of Galax for all of the love and care given to Granny during her illness.
