Indiana "Indy" Matchet Bradford-Oyler

September 5, 2003 - June 19, 2024

Indiana "Indy" Bradford-Oyler, age 20, was born on Friday, September 5, 2003, and left this life on June 19, 2024, because of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, two weeks earlier.

Indy was a very loving person. He loved his country which led to his decision to join the Marines. He loved everything that dealt with the water and was an adamant music lover. Most of all, Indy loved his freedom, adored Raven Eldridge, his girlfriend, who was his soul mate and knew that God was in control of all things.

Indy is preceded in death by his mother, Jennifer Ilean Bradford. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Matthew Oyler; paternal grandparents, Dan and Bobbie Oyler; maternal grandparents, Sandra Helm and her husband, Brett, John Bradford and his wife, Elizabeth; paternal aunt, Katy Grieco and her husband, Jay; five maternal aunts and uncles, John Bradford and his wife, Heather, Amanda Talk and her husband, Doug, Andrew Bradford and his wife, Jennifer, Jordyn Jenkins and her fiancé, Christopher, and Brittany Merritt and her husband, James; his fur baby, Sol. Also left to cherish his memory are many cousins and friends.

Indy got to spend 14 days with his family and friends before he, unselfishly, decided to withdraw life support and “go home” to his heavenly father and to visit his mother, Jenn. He was an organ donor, and his organs were harvested to help others in medical distress. Indy and Raven also had a “love ceremony” on the helicopter pad at Atrium Healthcare’s Trauma Unit before he passed. He was loved by all and had many visits from his friends, his church and his family.
Services in Charlotte will be held for Indy on June 27, 2024, starting with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Chapel located at Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations at 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, N.C. 28079.

In Roanoke, there will be a “Celebration of Life” service held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.; services will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the service will be a reception at Fort Lewis Christian Church, 2931 W. Main Street, Salem, Va., 24153.
