Inez H. Pinkard

Inez Harrison Pinkard, age 103 passed away Wednesday morning, September 13, 2023 at Mulberry Creek Nursing Home in Martinsville, VA.

She was born May 11, 1920 in Franklin Co. VA a daughter of the late Luther and Tenie Powell Harrison.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin (Buddy) Pinkard; her two sons. Benjamin Pinkard and Larry Pinkard; her grandson, Ryan Pinkard; her sisters, Flora Harrison, Capitola Harrison, Violet Hudson and Ardell Warren; her brother Terry Harrison.

Inez was a beloved member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She worked for Stanley Home Products as a Branch Manager. She was up for any activity if it meant spending time with family. Our family has fond memories of camping, fishing, boating and hanging out at home with her. She enjoyed gardening, reading the Bible (especially Psalms) and quilting the most beautiful quilts.

Inez is survived by two great grandchildren, Chase Pinkard of Dinwiddie, VA, and Brooke Perez and her husband Byron Perez of Ruffin, NC, three great great grandchildren, Damon Perez, Kairo Perez, and Elise Perez.

Our great grandmother was strong, determined and fiercely protective of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. We will miss her every day.

Special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses and cna’s at Mulberry Creek Nursing Home and to our grandmother Arlene Hall who provided invaluable care to our great grandmother for the last few years.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church at 1000 Snow Creek Rd. Martinville, VA with Pastor Steve Weedling officiating.
