Inez Whaley Hicks

Inez Whaley Hicks, age 84, of Danville, Virginia, went to her final resting place on August 18, 2025, at Sovah Health of Danville.

Ms. Hicks was born on December 17, 1940, in Danville, Virginia to the late Sally S. Gravely and Benjamin F. Gravely.

Ms. Hicks is survived by her sons, Roger Whaley Jr. (Lisa) and Randy Whaley Sr.; daughter, Rhonda Whaley; sister, Gladys Farthing; grandchildren, Blake Whaley, Samantha Whaley, Randy Whaley Jr. (Krissy), and Payton Whaley; great-grandchildren; Edward Haskins, Alyssa Haskins, Ava Johnson, Elania Jean Whaley, and Randy Whaley III; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hicks was predeceased by her husband, Gene Hicks; son Rodney Whaley; grandchildren, Raven Whaley and Robin Jones; brothers, Rorrer Gravely and Thomas Gravely; and sisters, Martha Denny and Helen Nichols.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August the 22nd, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services - West End Chapel with Pastor Allen Morris officiating. Internment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
