Iris "Christine" Turner Hylton
Mrs. Iris Christine Turner Hylton, age 83 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away at SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County on February 28, 2026. She was born in Patrick County on February 16, 1943, to the late William English Turner and Beadie Gaye Light Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband. Winfred Leon Hylton; a brother, L. E. Turner; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Turner. Christine was a member of Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and cherished her church family. She had served as a nurse at R.J. Reynolds Hospital for 10 years. She was a devoted mother and an adoring grandmother. She will be remembered for her love of Jesus and for taking care of her family.Mrs. Hylton is survived by a daughter, Iris Bryant of Stuart; a son, Jonathan Hylton of Stuart; two grandchildren, Justin Hylton, William Hylton; five great grandchildren, Heaven Hylton, Elijah Hylton, Sophia Hylton, Natalie Hylton; two brothers, Ralph Turner of Stuart and Eulee Turner and wife, Helen of Bassett; one niece, Brenda Turner of Bassett; and several other nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Gizmo, Sassy and Bella.Funeral Services for Mrs. Hylton will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Samuel Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
