Iskander Ibrahim Ismailov, 60, of Roanoke, Virginia and formerly of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, which is Christmas Day for Russian Orthodox.
Iskander is survived by his companion, Iraida Andreeva; mother, Ella Djumaniyaz Allakulova; and numerous friends and colleagues around the world.
He was an accomplished Biomedical Research Scientist with Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute. In 2015, he performed research in Antarctica on the United States Research Station. He was a wonderful friend, beloved son, and passionate scientist. He will truly be missed by all.
