Jacky Lee Minter

Jacky Lee Minter, 89, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Sovah Health of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born on August 18, 1936, in Martinsville, VA to the late Posey Lester Minter and Betty Sallie Richardson Minter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sue Minter; sisters, Elizabeth Minter Thornton, Dorothy Minter Clarke, and Irene Minter Adkins; brothers, Willard Lester Minter, Dewey Minter, Clifford Minter and Clyde Minter; grandchildren, Elisabet Minter and James Dean Minter.

He was a devoted member of County Line Christian Church and spent his entire life working in construction. A true family man, he worked tirelessly, helping bring homes and buildings to life. He also dedicated time to farming, starting out with his horse, Dan, to help haul and tend to the land. His legacy can be seen not only in his work but in the strong foundation he built for his family. He had a deep love for farming and gardening and was always generous in sharing the vegetables he grew with others. He was also a member of the Tri-County Coon Hunters Club, established in 1946, and had a great passion for hunting.

Mr. Minter is survived by his loving wife, Hettie May Brown Minter; sons, Wendell Lee Minter (Deloris), Ronnie Minter (Kimberly), and Donnie Gene Minter (Robin); sister, Helen Minter Wright; brother, Billy Minter. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Heather Minter Brim (Abram), Donnie Gene Minter, Jr. (Nikki), Allison Wirt, Katie Salgado (Martin), Jonathon Shelton, and Carter Minter; and great-grandchildren, Hanna Minter, Jaxson Wirt, Avery Salgado, Maxton Salgado, Brooklyn Wilson and Winston Minter.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at County Line Christian Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at County Line Christian Church with Ministers Dean Ashby and Tim Maness officiating. Burial will follow the service at County Line Christian Church Cemetery.
