James Anthony Chicano

James Anthony Chicano, Sr. age 83 of Wirtz and formerly of Florida passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he proudly served his country.He was born on June 13, 1942 a son of the late William and Catherine Tomlin Chicano. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Chicano McCrory.Mr. Chicano is survived by his brother, Bill Chicano; his children, James A. "Jimmy" Chicano, Jr., Dawn Michele Chicano; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend and companion of 15 years, Michelina "Mickey" Goonan, close friends and neighbors, Edward and Peanut Jewell; several nieces and nephews.It was James's wishes to be cremated and have his ashes buried out at sea.Arrangements by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory, 62 VA Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
