James “Jim” Conrad Hawkins, 68, of Roanoke, and formerly of Manassas, VA, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Loving husband, father, doting grandfather (Big Dad), uncle, and dear friend, Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Newt Hawkins; and sister, Teri Tossounian.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carolyn Ann Hawkins; daughters, Tracy Gibson (Wayne) and Laura Funk (Stephen); grandchildren, Alyson Funk, Jameson Funk, and Jackson Funk; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will have a Visitation on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 3:00-4:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019; followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00pm.
