James Dillon Wright

James Dillon Wright, age 81 of Boones Mill died Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Dillon Wright and Mary Kingery Wright. Surviving are his sister, Vivian Scott and husband Raymond; niece, Susan Henson; great-niece, Stephanie Henson; great-nephew, Stephen Henson, Jr.; great-great niece, Khloe Willard; and his cherished dog, Daisy. The family would like to give special thanks to his friend, Wills Holland for everything he has done for James. James served in the United States Army and in the National Guard. James was a Seargeant with the Rocky Mount Police Department for 26 years. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 with Rev. Kathryn Budzik officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
