James E. Dellis

With gratitude to God for a life well lived, we announce the passing of James E. Dellis Sr., at the age of 82, on January 24, 2026. He was a graduate of Dan River High School and Virginia Tech.

James loved the Lord and loved people. He reflected Christ’s love always. His laughter, wisdom and steady faith will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Joyce, son Jay (Wendy), and grandsons Stefan and Parker, and sister-in-law, Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth and father, Onyx, brother, Garvin, and sister, Evelyn.

His family rejoices in the assurance that he is now at home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). His family is thankful for the excellent care received from Blue Ridge Cancer Center and Good Samaritan Hospice.

A visitation of friends will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m., also at Norris West End Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mark Long. Interment will be private.
