James Edward Richardson

James Edward Richardson, age 65 of Danville, Virginia passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Richardson was born January 16, 1960 in Danville, Virginia to the late Frances Shumate Richardson and the late Joseph Carter Richardson, Jr. He was married to Janet Adkins Richardson.

Mr. Richardson was of the Methodist faith and was the manager of Interstate Batteries on Westover drive in Danville, Virginia, and was later employed by Interstate Battery Store. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially the Interstate Battery #18 driven by Kyle Busch. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, brother, and a devoted friend to everyone who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by his stepdaughter, Ashley Eanes; grandchildren, Matthew and Mackenzie Eanes; his sister, Joanne Gentry; his niece, Betty Jo DeHart and her husband Dean; his very special nephew, Doug Gery, Jr. and his wife Melissa; and his brother-in-law, Steve Adkins and his wife Pat.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Nancye Gery; and his brother, Joseph Carter Richardson, III.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, West End Chapel with Pastor David Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends and family at the residence.
