James Everett Redd

James Everett Redd, 64, of Martinsville, Virginia departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was born February 29, 1960, in Henry County to Sallie Bett Redd and the late William Frank Redd, Jr.James was a 1978 graduate of George Washington Carver High School in Fieldale, Virginia. He loved his family and held great respect for his mother, always ready to stand up for them when needed. In high school, he played football and was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. With a kind heart, James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.In addition to his mother, James is survived by his sisters, Doretha Hunt (Barry) of Martinsville, Virginia, Teressia Redd of Collinsville, Virginia, Bridget Redd of Ridgeway, Virginia, and Vanessa Preston (Steven) of Ridgeway, Virginia; brothers, John W. Redd of Troutville, Virginia, David Redd (Helen) of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Mark Redd of Kernersville, North Carolina; good friends, Jeffrey Tinsley, Randolph Penn, and Pete Danridge; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.The funeral will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Barry Hylton officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends and extended family from 12:00 Noon until 7:00 PM daily at 706 Morrison Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
