James Henry Goin of Spout Spring, Virginia

James Henry Goin, 71, of Spout Spring passed away on Thursday January 5, 2023, at his residence. He was the husband of Barbara W. Goin.

Born in Lynchburg on April 3, 1951, he was the son of the late Rachel F. Goin and William H. “Bill” Goin. He was a United States Marine and was retired from Central Virginia Training Center. James enjoyed football, spending time with family, and was an avid animal lover.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Leslie D. Pugh (Roy) of Rustburg, Shaun T. Mayberry (Ximene) of Appomattox, and Donna J. Preston (Kiva) of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Elliott Pugh, Angel Pugh and Omni Preston; two sisters, Janie Morgan and Pamela Watson; and his Boxer and best friend, Tigger.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Dale Musick.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home.
