James "Jim" Dalton Stump

James Dalton Stump, 85, of New Castle, Va., passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025. He was born on June 6, 1939, to the late Lillie Young Stump and Alfred Brady Stump.

Left to cherish his memory include his special friend, Shirley Ferguson; sisters, Rosa Radclife, Shelby Young, and Betty Wade; nephew, Randy Stump; granddaughter, Jessica Ferris and her children, Rowan, mariskah, and Raylon; other friends, Lane and Angie Keffer, Levi and Liddy Keffer and their son Leon, Evan Keffer (Carolyn), Chase Keffer (Ella), Dan and Tracey Early and their sons; granddaughter, Jessica Ferris and her children rowan, mariskah, and raylon.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
