James "Jimmy" Pearson Cash

James “Jimmy” Pearson Cash, 83 of Lynchburg passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at his home.

He was born in Lynchburg on December 11, 1942, son of the late Alexander R. Cash and the late Rachel P. Cash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alexander R. Cash, Jr. and two sisters, Joan C. Kochersperger and Barbara C. McConnell.

Jimmy was a member of One In Christ Church and had retired after 40 years with General Electric. He had played softball for years and enjoyed bowling and working in his garden, but his greatest pastime was spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Phyllis F. Cash; two daughters, Tammy C. Kirby (Doug) and Tina C. Williams (Mike); two brothers, Ronald L. Cash (Kaye) and J. Ralph Cash; two grandchildren, Tyler P. Williams (Haileigh) and Hannah L. Hargis (Tyler) as well as five great grandchildren, Ledger, Zepplin, Nyxyn, Charlotte, and Kolson.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 12, 2026 with Pastor John Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
