James Milton Doss

James Milton Doss, age 90 of Chatham, Virginia passed away Monday, December 9, 2024 at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia. Mr. Doss was born July 27, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Lona Green Doss and the late William Edward Doss. He was married to Shirley Lawrence Doss, who survives at the residence.

He was a dedicated and faithful member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a lifelong farmer until his retirement. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, uncle, and friend to everyone who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Doss was also predeceased by one sister, Everlena Doss Bowling; and one brother, Garfield Doss.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel with Pastor Rusty East and Mike Amos officiating. Burial will follow at the Lawrence-Adkins Family Cemetery, 5205 Sago Road, Chatham, Virginia. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
