James Owens

Mr. James "Jim" Allen Owens, age 73, of Bluefield, passed away peacefully in his home on July 19, 2023.
Jim retired from the accounting department at Bluefield State College in 2015. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football, playing guitar and helping his nieces and nephews solve difficult math problems. He was loved by those who knew him and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lovurn C. Owens; his mother, Eloise Owens of White Sulphur Springs and brother-in-law, Johnny Glover of Covington, VA
Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Charles Owens and wife, Mary Sue Owens; his sisters, Carol Glover, Barbara Hoak and Charlotte "Susie" Cummings and husband, Mike Cummings; his daughter, Amber Farris; son-in-law, Roman Farris; and his grandchildren, Zack Olivo, Gavin Olivo and Silas Farris.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 24, 2023 at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV.
