James Paul Chappell

James Paul Chappell, Jr., 77, of Martinsville, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Sovah Health-Martinsville. He was born on February 20, 1947, in Danville, VA to the late James Paul Chappell, Sr., and Lillian Reynolds Chappell.He attended Stone Memorial Christian Church and worked for the local telephone company for thirty-seven years.Mr. Chappell is survived by the mother of his children, Elizabeth Stanley Chappell; daughter, Sherry Chappell Vaughan (Brian); sons, Steven Chappell, and Scott Chappell; brother, Donald Chappell (Sandra); grandchildren, Brian “Keith” Vaughan, Jr. (Haley), and Brandon Vaughan (Kylie); great-grandchildren, Emily Vaughan, Dylan Vaughan, and Lizzie Vaughan.In honor of James’s wishes, the family will not be having any services.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of your choice.Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory, Martinsville, VA is serving the Chappell family.
