James Ralph Crawford

James Ralph Crawford, Sr., 79, of Fieldale, Virginia, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024. He was born September 17, 1944, in Fieldale, Virginia, to the late Samuel Benny Crawford and Lottie Evelyn Goin Crawford.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Susan Carmichael Crawford; sisters, Jean Marie Hardy and Joan Crawford; and brother, Benny Crawford.James proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a member of Valley Drive Baptist Church, and during the later part of his life, he attended Mercy Church in Stuart, Virginia. He was a dedicated employee of Bassett Furniture for over 30 years, he loved raising his children and grandchildren, and cared greatly about his family. He loved being outdoors and spending time on the beach.He is survived by daughters, Evelyn Christine Corns, Elizabeth Susan White (Ross), and Samantha Crawford Sigmon (Chris); son, James Ralph Crawford, Jr. (Michelle); sisters, Peggy Ferguson, and Mildred Eanes (Daniel); grandchildren, Andrew Corns (Jessika), Zachary Corns, Sara Munn (Jonathan), Mattox Sigmon, Benton Sigmon, and Aria Crawford; and one great grandchild, Lillianna Corns.The funeral will be Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Johnny Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
