James "Randy" Redd

James “Randy” Redd, 56, of York, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025. He was born in Galax, Virginia, on January 30, 1969, to the late James William Redd and Frances Savage Redd. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant sibling.

Randy honorably served in the United States Marines in Bosnia, Croatia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. After his service and most recently, he was an automotive mechanic. He attended Bullock Creek Cowboy Church in York, South Carolina. Randy was a true patriot who loved to laugh and play pranks. He found joy in gun trading, his animals, and spending quality time with his friends and family.

Randy is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Dodson; daughters, Emily Carrico (Chris) and Kimberly Miller (Jamie); sisters, Connie Vaughn (Terry), Bonnie Bowman (Dallas), and Barbara Wilson (Greg); grandchildren, Alexa Miller, CJ Miller, and McKenna Miller.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville with a Funeral Service following at 2:00 PM. The burial will take place immediately after services at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Virginia.
