James Roy Brown of Bassett passed away on May 16, 2023 at the Fork Mountain Rest Home. He was 84 years old and a life-long resident of Franklin County.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd and Mary Bettie Brown; brother William Divers Brown (Edith); sister Marie Frances Stone (Norman); and niece Molly Stone Jones (Calvin). He is survived by two nieces, five nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the Draper Family Cemetery, Reed Creek Drive. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Roy was a member of the Oak Level Baptist Church, 7720 Oak Level Road, Bassett, VA 24055.Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
