James Thomas Jones

James Thomas Jones, 78, of Troutville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024. Born on April 25, 1946, in the District of Columbia, James lived a life of service, love, and dedication. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Newton Jones, and his mother, Geneva Sowder Jones. 

James is survived by his loving wife, Gabrielle Jones; his son, Jeremy W. Jones (Nicole); his stepson, Jason D. Lloyd; and his daughter, Jeannine Falk (Andy). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom were his greatest pride and joy. 

A passionate educator, James devoted 15 years of his life to teaching for Rockbridge County Public Schools, leaving a lasting impact on his students and colleagues. He was a proud member of the Buena Vista Lodge #188 Masonic, where he upheld the values of brotherhood, charity, and community service. 

James will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his students, and his deep commitment to his community. His warmth, wisdom, and humor will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
