James Walter Burnette

James Walter Burnette,79, of Danville, VA passed away on Monday, November 6,2023. James was born July 7, 1944, in Danville to the late Gladys Fowler and Sony Clay Burnette. He is survived by his wife Brenda Gregory Burnette of the residence.

James was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a tire builder for 32 years. James was a long-time member of St. John’s Church and St. John’s Fishermen Club. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles, NASCAR and being out in nature. James proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Also surviving are two daughters, Melissa Eanes and husband David, and Kim Kinzie and husband Dwayne; one sister, Sandra Gammon; four grandchildren, James Arnold, Trent Eanes, Shawn Hawkins, and Ian Kinzie; great-grandchild, Bliss Arnold.

In addition to his parents James was predeceased by his brother, Harry Burnette.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Jason Austin. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
