Janet Hale Lloyd of Vinton, VA passed peacefully in her home in the early hours of Sunday October 29, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of 75.Janet was preceded in death by her son Richard L Hale, Jr; her first husband Richard L. Hale, Sr; her mother Mary L. Thornhill; her father Clarence Edward Flowers; her brothers Clarence Edward Flowers, Jr; Elmer Lee Flowers and Bobby Wayne Flowers. Janet is survived by her loving husband Edward Lloyd; Daughter Janice Riggs (Jack); son Ed Lloyd, Jr (Jami); daughter Erica Stone (Michael); daughter Vicki Deyerle (Chuck); daughter Marlene Riggs; son Gary Lloyd.; 19 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren.; brother Roger Flowers, a host of nieces and nephews, special family friends Rhonda and Dave Parks, her lifelong best friend Ginnie Martin and her beloved dog LittleBear. She worked for Valcom Inc., for over 30 years where she was well admired, loved and respected. Janet will always be remembered for her goodness, kind heart and the way she could make a complete stranger feel like you had known each other for years. She was the rock of our family and will be truly missed. We’ll always imagine hearing her say “Hey Angel or Hey Baby” one more time. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. A special thank you to Brian with Accredo her nurse, her hospice nurse Krsyta and the entire Carillion Hospice team. Also a special thank you to Rhonda and Dave Parks for the daily care and love they showed to Janet and Eddie over the last few years. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 2p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lotz Vinton Chapel. A celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Lotz Vinton Chapel with Chaplin Gary Kingery officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in memory of Janet.
