Janet St. Clair Hudgins
Janet Lee St. Clair Hudgins, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on November 23, 2024. Janet, born on June 12, 1933, was the only daughter of Roy Lee and Patience Helen St. Clair who preceded her in death. Her husband, Clarence Earl Hudgins, also preceded her in death in 2009. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Roy (Kathy) and Chuck (Donna), her grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith (Joshua), Benjamin Hudgins, Rebekah Hudgins, and Amelia, Annie, and Macy Westland, and her great grandsons, Zander Flinchum and Axeten Hudgins.
Janet enjoyed sewing, gardening, puzzles, rummaging through thrift shops, and baking the best pound cakes. She could be seen walking her dogs (Bertha and Lady) around the golf course and back streets in Salem regardless of the weather for many years of her life. She loved spending time with family and eating tacos and ice cream. Visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren were pleasures she looked forward to.
Visitation of family and friends will be held at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, Virginia, on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm. and her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Ken Nienke, Pastor at FCC. Burial will take place immediately afterwards at Sherwood Memorial Park.
Janet’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor be made to the Bethel Baptist Food Pantry.
