Janet Walton Stephens

Janet Walton Stephens, 91, of Forest, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Born in Lynchburg on October 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Edna Walton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene “Buddy” Augusta Stephens. Janet and her husband Buddy were the owners and operators of Stephens Auto Sales on Timberlake Rd. for over 45 years and Tiny Town Golf for 10 years before they sold it. She was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn S. Mayberry and her husband Roger of Madison Heights.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to pay their respects and sign the register on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Lucy Gillespie and Kim Marshall for the excellent care and love shown to Janet throughout the years.
