Janice Hall Williams

November 2, 1944 - February 23, 2025

Janice Hall Williams, 80, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. She was born on November 2, 1944, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Silas S. Hall and Eva Hall Brim. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six brothers, Amos Hall, Ralph Hall, Herman Hall, Eugene Hall, Millard Hall, and Lawrence Hall; and her two sisters, Thelma Powers and Juanita Turner.

Janice was a devoted member of Mountain View Church of God of Prophecy, formerly known as Patrick Springs C.O.G.O.P. She served tirelessly with all her heart, often putting others before herself at church fellowships and making sure everyone was served. She dedicated many years of service to Bassett Furniture then worked at Stanley Furniture where she retired.

Janice had a passion for sewing and was well-known for her handmade quilts. She was also an avid canner, preserving anything she believed could fit into a jar. One of her greatest joys was hosting Easter egg hunts for her grandchildren, a tradition she continued even as they grew older.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Brooks (Paul) of Bassett, Virginia, and Carolyn Walthall (Tommy) of Bassett, Virginia; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Hall of Galax, Virginia; two sisters, Dorothy Flippin of Bassett, Virginia, and Christine Shupe of Martinsville, Virginia; along with a host of other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Country Line Church of God of Prophecy in Patrick Springs, Virginia.
