Janice Mason Turner

Janice Mason Turner, 82, of Collinsville, Va. died Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Atrium Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her family. She was born in Martinsville on August 25, 1940, to Paul James Mason and Doris Dodson Mason. She was a long-time member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church, serving many years in the church choir and as a church pianist. She is preceded in death by her parents.Janice is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Glen Turner. She lovingly blessed the lives of her two children: Randy Turner (Debbie) of Woodbridge, VA and Pam Freedman (Glenn) of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her beloved younger sister, Carolyn McCraw (John). She was a wonderful ‘Nana’ to her four grandchildren: Lindsey and Justin Freedman, and Brandon and Emily Turner. They brought much joy and happiness and were a great sense of pride to her and Papa.The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff at Atrium Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC for their attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chatham Heights Baptist Church.Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Chatham Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Michael Hatfield officiating. A visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service.
