Jason W. Ramsey
Jason W. Ramsey, 54, of Daleville, our J-Bird, Big Red, Koolin J and PawPaw passed away after a brief and sudden illness on August 17, 2024 at Lewis Gale Hospital.
Jason was predeceased by his father Ray Wilford Ramsey Sr. and Mother Charlotte Yvonne Ramsey.
Left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughter, Autumn (Spencer) and grandson Ollie Slusher; son, Michael (Heather); grandchildren, Bryce, Lexi, Landon, Courtney and Zach Warfe; son, Chris and granddaughter Alexa Warfe; brother, Ray W. Ramsey Jr. of Florida; and lifelong friends that he considered his brothers, Cliff Patterson, Jeff Lloyd, Dave Wood and Todd Wilson along with many other friends he held dear to his heart.
Jason owned and operated Olympic Skate Center in Vinton for 18 years with his father Ray Sr. He was well known and loved as not only an owner, but also a coach, a DJ and a friend to all in the skating community.
Jason never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. His love of music and concerts was very well known as he spent multiple years bouncing and providing security at many of the local watering holes and concert venues. His smile, laughter and that mischievous twinkle in his eye would light up a room and his presence would always be felt. The love he had for his family and friends was fierce, loyal, protective and unwavering. He was, above all else, a wonderful and devoted father and grandfather who left his family with lasting memories and stories.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Daleville on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm.
Jason’s final act of giving was the gift of life as an organ and tissue donor.
