Jasper Wayne Peters

Jasper Wayne Peters, 71, of Axton, VA passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital. He was born on November 10, 1953, in Danville, VA to the late Henry Davis Peters and Mary Madeline Thompson Peters. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Williams; brother, Dave Peters, Bob Peters, and Barry Peters.

Mr. Peters attended Axton Baptist Church and Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church. He worked at Multiwall Packaging as a lab technician for 40 years. He was a firefighter at the Axton Fire Department for over fifty years, where he once served as Chief, and had ten years of service to the Axton Rescue Squad. He loved the Dodgers baseball team and was most recently employed at Henry County Dump.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Cooke Peters; daughters, Bobbie Jo Lee (James Dominey) and Crystal Dove; sister, Carolyn Duncan; sister-in-law, Brenda Cooke; brothers, Everett Peters (Deborah) and Dale Peters (Robin); special brother, Harry Hairston. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Haylee Custer (Austin), Ethan Lee, Megan Lee, Natalie Haley, Aliyah Peters, and Lucas Peters; great-grandson, Carson Custer; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with Pastors Chris Robertson and Gary Shupe officiating at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
