Jean Ann Dyson Rogers

Jean Ann Rogers, 86, of Evington, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Glynn Estes Rogers, Sr.

Born on March 20, 1939, in Talladega, Alabama, Jean was the daughter of the late Victor Eugene Dyson and Ruby Turner Dyson.

Jean is survived by her son, Glynn E. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Pollyanna; her daughter, Janice E. Mata and her husband Jay; two sisters, Donna D. Payne and Jane D. Wilson; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Jean never met a stranger and made friends at every opportunity. She was an active member of the Newcomers Club, where she enjoyed luncheons, trips, and time spent socializing. She also loved playing bingo, especially at her favorite place, Moose Lodge 1727. Above all else, Jean cherished her family and treasured every moment spent with them.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Jean’s love of cats, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society.
