Jeffrey Duane Horne

Jeffrey “Jeff” Duane Horne, died on December 30th at his home in Vinton, VA. Jeffrey was born June 1, 1962 to parents Robert Reece Horne and Joyce Kingery Horne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Sister Rita Ayers, his brother Robbie Horne, and his furbabies Simon, Sydney and Sally.

The Horne family grew up as natives in the Roanoke/Coopers Cove area. Jeff, like his siblings, was an outdoor man. He was known for his hunting adventures and his fishing expeditions. He was always found tinkering on a new project, which often involved a garage and a ton of tools. Jeff loved taking broken vehicles and making them shine like new. He enjoyed getting his hands dirty and creating something out of nothing.

Jeff was survived by his son, Benjamin B. Horne and his sister Becky Langston, sister-in-law Brenda Horne, Nieces Lorraine Humphrey and Melanie Blankenship and Nephews Andy Campbell and Greg Horne; in addition to numerous other aunts, uncles, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. Although Jeff is no longer physically with us, his memories and spirit are within the hearts and minds of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Coopers Cove Baptist Church or to help with the cost of the funeral arrangements.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Coopers Cove Baptist Church. The address is 1929 Coopers Cove Rd, Hardy, VA 24101. Per Jeffrey’s wishes, his ashes will be laid to rest with his parents.
