Jennifer Lani Smith

Jennifer Lani Smith, 44, of Montvale, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Ragland Smith.

Jennifer was born a daredevil and never grew out of it. She had a lifelong love of horses, riding those of both the best and worst temperaments with fearlessness and skill. An avid animal lover, she treasured her horses, her many chickens, and all creatures great and small. Jennifer found peace and joy in nature, whether spending quiet moments outdoors or soaking up the sun and salt air at the beach.

Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Jack Smith; her brother, Marc Smith; her fiancé, Joe Meador; her in-laws, Gene and Vicky Meador; her aunt and uncle-in-law, Donna and James “Poochie” Meador; her special aunts, Brenda Ragland, Sandy Davidson, Ann Amburgey, and Mary Gibson; her special cousins, Matthew and Jessica Adkins; numerous other relatives who will miss her dearly; and lastly, her constant companion and beloved furbaby, her dog Finn.

The family will hold a celebration of Jennifer’s life at a later date.
