Jerry Gross

Jerry Gross, 83, of Bent Mountain, VA., peacefully passed away on August 21, 2024. Jerry, first and foremost, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He was a retiree of Norfolk Southern. Jerry had many interests. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife Mary and many of their friends. He also enjoyed going on vacation with his family. Jerry owned a Christmas tree farm for a number of years and enjoyed taking his grandchildren on snowmobile rides through the Christmas trees. He was also a member of a snowmobile club with his wife Mary. He loved going fishing with his friends as well. Jerry was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved supporting his children, grandchildren and great grand-children in all of their activities.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Gross, his mother, Pauline Gross, his brother Winford Gross, his brother-in-law Don Eldreth, and his loving wife Mary Gross.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Fonder and her husband Doug, Kristi Wilson and her husband David; grandchildren Jamie Hill and her husband Marcus, Kyndal Terrell and her husband Michael, Khalil Fonder and his special friend Savannah Ream, Brett Fonder, Kaitlin Wilson and her special friend Nicholas Sigmon and Ethan Wilson; great-grandchildren Riggins Hill, Hadyn, Collyns, Londyn and Briggs Terrell; special sister, Paulette Eldreth, niece and nephew, Lisa Malcolm and Jeffrey Eldreth.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, August 26, 2024 at Sherwood Memorial Park, 1250 East Main Street, Salem with Pastor Jeremy Breaux officiating.
