Jerry Langston Emerson

Jerry Langston Emerson, 81, of Danville, VA passed away on December 1, 2025.

Born on December 28, 1943, Jerry was a proud Veteran of the US Army and a member of the Virginia defense league. He was a hard-working man who took over his father’s company, Emerson Electric. He, along with the love of his life, Naomi, continued running the company for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Melvin Emerson and Essie Elizabeth Emerson; brother, Ray Emerson; sister, Margie Scearce; and great-granddaughter, Josie Kaye-Marie Hancock.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Naomi Buchanan Emerson; daughter, Debra Hager; son, Ronnie Pollard; daughter, Marcia Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Joshua Hornbarger, Jennifer Poole, Kelli Green, Jacob Hornbarger, Angela Bell, Jessica Sams, Timothy Jackson, Amanda Hancock, and Connie Pollard; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Family will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be conducted on December 5, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor Joe Spivey officiating. A visitation for family and friends will precede the funeral on December 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
