Jerry Mack Martin

December 29, 1939 - March 19, 2026

Jerry Mack Martin, 86, of Collinsville, Va passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Brookdale Senior Living in Midlothian, Virginia. He was born on December 29, 1939, in Martinsville, Virginis, to the late Frederick Samuel Martin and Hattie Oaks Martin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jane Hunt Martin, and his brothers, Glenn Martin, J.D. Martin, Ronnie Martin; and sisters, Doris Earls and Linda Hancock. 

Mr. Martin proudly served in the United Staes Navy from 1958 -1962 on board the U.S.S. De Soto County LST 1171 and was employee of Dupont Martinsville from 1965 and retired in 1994. He is survived by his son, Christopher Kevin Martin; daughter Victoria L. Blankenship; and her husband David Blankenship; grandchildren, William Blankenship and Drew Blankenship; brothers Teddy Martin of Tennessee, Larry Martin of North Carolina; long term partner, Mickey Hankins of North Carolina and Florida. 

He is fondly remembered as well by many friends of Seascape in Florida. 

A visitation for Mr. Martin will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville Chapel. 

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Roselawn Burial Park at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with Rev. Rickey Bates officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Larry Martin, Doug Martin, Chris Martin, Michael Gutierrez, Will Blankenship, Drew Blankenship, Brad Martin and Brent Martin. Honorary Pallbearers David Blankenship and Mark Hankins. 

Following the burial, a dinner will be hosted in Mr. Martins’ honor at Clarences Restaurant in Ridgway VA, at 3:00 P.M. Donations would be appreciated for Amvets Post 35 of Collinsville, VA (2147 Virginia Avenue Collinsville, VA 24078) where Jerry proudly served as commander of the post. Other optional donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.
