Jesse Washington Holley

Jesse Washington Holley, 102, of Danville, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Jesse was born March 2, 1921, in Pittsylvania County to the late William C. Holley and the late Sally Kate Holley Holley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Turner Holley.
Mr. Holley was of the Christian faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He loved to raise a vegetable garden, and he was very successful at doing so. Jesse’s father passed away at a young age which required Jesse to start working at a very young age.

Mr. Holley was one of sixteen children. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Holley; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Larry Mills and Kathy Bickford; and special nephew, Wayne Holley and his wife Jo Ann Holley. Linda would like to thank Wayne, Jo Ann, Kathy, and Larry for all of their loving care in helping take care of Jesse.

The family would also like to say a special thanks to SOVAH-Danville Emergency Room and Riverside Health and Rehab for their care of Mr. Holley.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2023 at Highland Burial Park, with Wayne Holley officiating. American Legion Post 1097 will render military honors.
