Jessica (Jess) Hope McPherson
December 30, 1963 – July 17, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Jess (Jessica Hope) McPherson whose journey on this earth touched the lives of many. Her story is one marked by compassion and a quiet strength, woven through the days with acts of kindness, laughter shared, and moments of gentle wisdom.
Born into a world of possibility, she grew to embody values of integrity, generosity, and unwavering dedication. From the earliest days, her curiosity and warmth radiated outward, forming connections that would last a lifetime.
Jess was a cherished member of a close-knit family and a loyal friend to many. Through the years, she built a legacy not just of accomplishments, but of meaningful relationships and heartfelt bonds. She embraced her bonus son without hesitation and helped lead him to adulthood. Her presence brightened gatherings, and her counsel guided those in need.
Throughout her career and personal pursuits, she approached every challenge with determination and grace. Whether through professional excellence or quiet acts of service, her impact was felt far and wide. She pursued her passions wholeheartedly, inspiring those around her to do the same.
Stories of laughter, resilience, and kindness will be shared and cherished for generations. Her adventures led her to places like Hawaii, Texas and Iowa, but she always returned home to SW Virginia. Those fortunate enough to have known her carry forward memories of gentle encouragement, shared adventures, and unwavering support.
Though her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, her spirit endures in the hearts of those who loved her. Let us remember the joy she brought, the wisdom she imparted, and the kindness she showed to all.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that acts of kindness or donations in her memory be made to Providence United Methodist Church for their Community Garden project https://www.providenceinpatrick.org/donate, Feeding SW Virginia https://feedingswva.org/, the Patrick Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) https://www.chewy.com/g/patrick-animal-welfare-society-inc_b129217333, or a cause close to your heart.
