Specializing in Radar while overseas and stationed at a missile base in DC. Jimmie could tell you a few stories that would leave you truly wondering if he was mixing things up with a movie script.

Mr. Meador was the owner-operator of Meador’s Texaco. A staple of the Vinton community in the 1970’s. Meador’s Texaco Wrecker Service, driven by Jimmie, could always be counted on day or night.
After the Texaco closed, Jimmie drove a long-haul truck for several trucking companies in the Valley.
He decided to return to his roots, and he began managing the Wilco Gas Station (along with his wife Judy) on Rt 460 (near Gus Nicks Blvd). He held this position until he retired. He enjoyed interacting with customers and truck drivers, and employees loved working for him.

Jimmie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and boat. Some of his most talked-about memories happened a short distance from the Hardy Bridge boat ramp. He might have been the only pontoon boat out there fishing, but he could bring his grandkids along, so he didn’t mind.
His retirement years often found him riding his lawnmower or tinkering in his shed with one thing or another. Always looking to get something done outside or start a project, Jimmie was a working man through and through. His family will miss him immensely.
